Company History
David Zeff, the founder and president, grew up in the building industry. David’s step-father was a partner in a custom home building company in Northern California. While in high school, David earned money after school working for the maintenance crew where he began building his foundation of knowledge in the residential construction industry. David enjoyed the construction process so much that he continued to work with the custom home building crew during summers through high school and college. David’s aptitude for the building trade came naturally and he was quickly given many opportunities and responsibilities. After earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz, David continued to work for the same custom home building company in Northern California until he relocated to Boulder, Colorado and shortly thereafter started Prãna Construction, Inc. 1995. At Prãna’s inception, David’s specialties included decks, bathrooms, kitchens, and basement remodels. As David continued his quest to learn and grow more, so did his number of satisfied clients. Over the last 13 years Prãna Construction, Inc. has expanded its services to all types of residential remodeling, including entire custom homes, additions and pop-tops, and design services. Today, with hundreds of completed projects and satisfied clients, Prãna Construction, Inc. has grown into a company that has a long history of providing superb design, quality construction, personal service and great value to its clients.
About Our Name
It was very important for our business name to represent ideals in which I base my life on. I am from a Christian/Hindu background, so I considered different Hindu names mostly because the Sanskrit language feels very creative, noble, and new to the Western world. Prãna is the Sanskrit word for “breath.” Prãna stands for the life force, a primordial energy, and it is involved in physical, mental and spiritual health and strength. The meaning and energy behind Prãna resonates with my vision of our company – innovative, honorable, and continually evolving.
